A Quick Look at the Latest Affordable Office Tech

submitted on 20 April 2016
To run a successful, office-based business in the early part of the 21st century you need good tech, but tech is expensive and you have money that is better spent on employees… and let’s be fair, ‘company lunches’ and ‘business trips’. Luckily the tech market is getting oversaturated, which is bad news for Samsung, Apple, and Sony as they have to deal with all the competition, but it’s good news for you as it means cheaper office tech.

Below is a list of some of the better, more cost-effective pieces of equipment that you can’t afford to do without.

Printer: HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One
If you run a large office then you are going to need one of those massive, bulky, hot printers that sit in the corner and annoy everyone around them, but if your enterprise is smaller then you just need a hardy, easy to use printer to pop in the corner and silently print and scan documents. The OfficeJet is great as it’s really cheap at around £70.00 and it does everything you’d want a modern printer to do. There are better printers out there, sure, but none are as good for as cheap as this one.

The Epson WorkForce WF-2660, is just as cheap, however, has some issues with connectivity, but would make a good alternative if for some reason you hate Mr. Hewlett and Mr. Packard.

Desktop: Dell Inspiron 3847
The best desktops will be determined by budget and number of staff. It would be very costly to buy 10 Apple iMacs (at £1600 each!), but if you can, go for that. I, however, have plumped for the Dell because at around £450 it’s great value for money. It’s got a slim build and enough power for day-to-day office work (although for a bit more dough, you can upgrade its power). Like I said, if you can afford the Mac then go for it, they have the desktop market cornered really, the only drawback is the ridiculous cost.

But as we will see, they don’t own the laptop market … yet.

Laptop: Asus ZenBook UX305
Desktops are great for office work, but what about when you need to go to a meeting, working from home, or are travelling? You’ll need a laptop. Now you could go for the safe Mac option, however, the Asus is actually better and it so much cheaper than the Apple. It’s under £600 (whereas a Mac will set you back between £800 to a £1000+) and it’s powerful, it looks great, and the battery is incredible (this thing will last longer than the original Nintendo Gameboy… well maybe not, but you get the point).

And here’s a handy hint – if anything goes wrong with any of these, then chances are you can find the contact info for their service departments here at contacttelephonenumbers.com. And just a parting word from me: when did tech companies start merging words and abusing capital letters – WorkForce, OfficeJet, ZenBook etc – What’s with that?
