How to Show Your Employees You Appreciate Themsubmitted on 2 November 2018
You need your employees to help your business succeed. After all, it’s all about teamwork and having a highly trained staff working alongside you if you want to keep your company going strong for many years to come. One of the ways to keep your employees content, and to encourage them to stick with you rather than going to work for a competitor, is by regularly showing them your appreciation. Keep reading to learn about a few ways to do just that.
Set Up Employee Appreciation Days and Events
Sometimes your employees need some time off. They need to get their minds off their work, and they need to find new ways to connect with their co-workers. One way to do all of that is by offering them an afternoon off or a day off during which you will all enjoy some time having fun together. Look for local attractions, such as this escape room in Indianapolis and other venues that offer activities that will give your staff a chance to collaborate in new and fun ways.
Plan an Awards Night
Planning an annual event during which you honor your employees for all that they do is another great way to show them that you appreciate them every day. Feed them a tasty dinner, have drinks available at a bar, and let them enjoy each other’s company. You might even hire a DJ for some dancing, and you can have a little awards ceremony during which you recognize certain team members for their accomplishments that year.
Offer Them Lunch
Employees will always appreciate being offered delicious food. So make it a point to lay out a special lunch during which everyone can gather in one place, enjoy each other’s company, and feast on some treats that they otherwise wouldn’t have for lunch that day. This is a great way to let your staff know that you are thinking about them and all that they do for your business—and it can be a surprisingly affordable way to show appreciation!
Give Them Recognition
You don’t need a special day or event to show your employees that you appreciate their hard work. Whenever an employee accomplishes something special, be sure to give that individual, or a team of workers, the recognition that they deserve. Have everyone meet for a few minutes so that you can recognize the workers who have gone above and beyond to do a fantastic job. Not only will those who worked hard feel appreciated, but it might also inspire others to work just as hard to gain recognition as well. And you can even go a step further by giving them a gift, such as a gift card to the movies or tickets to a sporting event, to further prove how proud and grateful you are for all that they do.
Showing appreciation to your staff is easy. Small steps, such as recognizing workers’ efforts on a daily basis, can definitely add up, but planning bigger events and trips for your staff so that they can unwind and have fun is also a smart way to keep your employees happy.
